Regret to Inform at the United Nations

In June 2000, Sun Fountain Productions (the creators of Regret to Inform and the Widows of War Living Memorial) participated in the UN's Beijing +5 Conference on Women in New York. Barbara Sonneborn and some of the women interviewed in Regret to Inform led a discussion after a screening of the film. This event helped spread the message of the film and the website among women and international organizations worldwide. Webcast and Launch of the Widows of War Living Memorial

All day on April 27th, Regret to Inform was webcast on PBS Online, Salon.com and MSNBC in order to promote the official unveiling of the Widows of War Living Memorial. Widows of all wars and conflicts can now record and share their stories. The memorial celebrates women as an unprecedented force for peace, healing and reconciliation. The site also includes an area for guests to voice their support for these courageous individuals.

Fairfax High School Event

In January 2000, five of the women from the film traveled on a six-city tour of the U.S. One of the most memorable highlights of the tour was the screening and panel discussion at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, CA. Four hundred students from two LA Unified high schools attended. After the screening, students engaged in discussion with the filmmaker and the women from the film. Many students wrote letters in response to this experience. If you would like to read some of these letters, click here.
